A proven professional with leadership experience and ability that began when Gloria received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. She began her nursing career for the nationally renowned Texas Medical Center as the charge nurse on the Medical Surgical Unit. After starting her family, she joined the Houston Independent School District as a school nurse and then the South County School District in Missouri. After being invited to join the teaching faculty, she completed graduate courses at St. Louis University and Washington University to become certified in Secondary Education and Health Science. She was then tasked to assist in the writing of their curriculum in health science for middle school students and teach in the Midwest school district.

Gloria was then recruited by Eastern Airlines to work in the Chicago and Atlanta reservations offices to book reservations, train new employees, and assist in management roles. Gloria left Eastern Airlines in 1987 to join The American Red Cross, leading the blood collection team. She rounded out her nursing career at a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospital as occupational health nurse.

Gloria joined CorTrans Logistics, LLC in 2001, as Director of HR and then VP of HR. She has worked in all aspects of the company and has gained valuable experience that will help her lead CorTrans into the next millennium.

Her goal, while operating as a fully certified woman owned company, is to ensure the company’s mission and goals are communicated and to build a strong strategy for the future of CorTrans. This is accomplished by working with the leadership team to stay up to date on the competitive transportation & logistics landscape. She is always looking for opportunities for expansion, follows customer base changes, remains keen of the logistics market and watch for changes within the industry so she and the team may best prepare to plan and remain ahead of the trend. Empowering diversity and supporting the many voices to be heard is among the many ways Gloria shares her experiences and knowledge in the community.
